From VP of Engineering to CISO to Head of Operations at venture-backed startups.
Most recently, Jon built and led the entire operations function as the first operations hire at a venture-backed startup — spanning BizOps, IT, engineering, people, and legal. He ran the diligence that closed the company’s Series A and then managed that capital, owning finance end-to-end and overseeing several million in MRR alongside fraud and transaction risk, while directing both physical and digital security programmes including executive protection.
Before that he led security and compliance at Orbit and Balena. As CISO at Orbit he built SOC 2, ISO 27001 and GDPR programmes from the ground up, reaching SOC 2 Type 1 in under six months; at Balena his work helped close over $5m of contract ARR, including a multinational payment network and two FTSE 500s.
Earlier, as VP of Engineering at MirrorWeb, he oversaw all technical efforts and scaled the team from 5 to 26 in under three years — architecting infrastructure to handle billions of requests per minute, work later presented as best-in-class at AWS re:Invent.
